Šī maģistra darbs ir veltīts pētījumam par Iana Makjuana (Ian McEwan) romāna "Piedošana" (‘Atonement’) semiotiskājiem elementiem, kurus režisors Džo Raits (Joe Wright) vēlāk pārnesa uz ekrāna. Darbs koncentrējas uz teksta oriģināla un tā adaptācijas kinofilmā salīdzinājumu, pētot gan teksta, gan vizuālo attēlojumu no semiotiskās perspektīvas. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt teksta kinematogrāfiskos atveidojumus, novērtēt tekstuālo un vizuālo zīmju atšķirības un līdzības, kā arī veikt identificēto semiotisko elementu salīdzinošo analīzi un to turpmāko interpretāciju. The figure of the amateur is emerging on the contemporary semiosphere, both in terms of scientific research and in the artistic domain. In this paper we discuss this phenomenon from the textual analysis of a song by Paolo Conte. We thus deal with the relations of mutual inter semiotic translation between music and image by showing how, in Conte, a musical compo sition can, at the level of utterance, become the theory of a given pictorial making and, at the level of enunciation, be transposed into a drawing that predicates it by its own expressive and semantic means. In this research work, a multidisciplinary approach was applied to answer the question: do consumers perceive what semiotics want to convey? The idea behind was to determine if consumers' expectations and associations raised by simulated yogurt labels, designed with different sign combinations frequently applied in commercial products, were in agreement with results from a semiotic analysis, and to check for cultural differences, comparing results from two Spanish-speaking countries (Spain and Uruguay).A survey of the plain yogurt market was performed, followed by a semiotic analysis of the gathered labels performed by a team of semiotics experts. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan suistamolaiselta itkijältä Matjoi Plattoselta vuosina 1908−1920 tallennettuja kuolinrituaalien kuvauksia ja niihin liittyviä itkuvirsiä siirtymäriittiteorian avulla. Tutkimuksen aineiston Plattosen kanssa ovat tuottaneet Matti Kaisla, U. T. Sirelius ja A. O. Väisänen. Tutkimuksessa kiinnitetään huomiota erityisesti rituaalisen itkemisen merkitykseen kuolinrituaalien osana.
